Terms of Use

Participation in the Diamond Dogs Ski Club is subject to the following terms:

Membership

The club is a not for profit organization and we are not charging a membership fee for the club. We add a small assessment to our trips and events to cover our own internal costs for postage, website, publicity, and any other fees. You help defer these costs by participating in the club.

The minimum age to be a member of the Diamond Dogs Ski Club is 21 years old.

Membership is at the sole discretion of the Diamond Dogs Ski Club and can be revoked at anytime. Behavior that is damaging to the reputation of the club or behavior that makes other club members uncomfortable will be grounds for immediate revocation of membership.

Membership cards are required to enjoy the many of the benefits that the club offers and can be picked up at any Happy Hour or Club Event. The club does not mail membership cards.

Trips

The Diamond Dogs Ski Club runs many trips during each winter season and sign up is available on-line. Sign up does not reserve a spot on any trip. Trip space will not be confirmed until a deposit payment is received by the club. The amount of the required deposit is posted with each trip.

Some trips allow members to book their own air. When doing so you are responsible for your own transfers between the airport and hotel.

The Club is not responsible for circumstances beyond its control. These include weather or mechanical related cancellations and delays of flights and transfers. In the event that a flight is cancelled the club will make every effort to re-book for the group but in the event of a cancelled return flight it is advisable to try to make your own return arrangements. If you choose to make arrangements outside of what the airline is offering then you are responsible for any additional cost

Lodging

It is the club's responsibility to provide each person a single person bed. This includes a loft situation, a bedroom with a single bed, twin beds or pullouts. Members may request to room with someone. In the event that members do not, they will then be paired up with someone of the same gender. Couples will be put in the same room with one bed, if possible.

Sleeping arrangements are not negotiable. The club allocates beds in conjunction with fulfilling its responsibility. People may request to be in the same condominium but cannot demand which rooms they wish to occupy. If condo members agree to change their sleeping arrangements, they may do so. "DDSC" assumes no responsibility for any ensuing dissatisfaction.

Bedding coordination is done 5-6 weeks prior to the trip. In the event of staying at a condominium, the bedding coordination may need to be changed. Most of the management companies will not guarantee bedding configurations even though a specific bedding configuration request has been placed. A management company is only required to deliver on the type of condominium that was paid for. (e.g. We request a 2 BR w/loft that is configured 1 queen, 2 twins and 2 twins and they can give us a condominium in the configuration of 1 queen, 1 queen and 2 twins.) When all single beds are taken, we will ask for volunteers to use sofa sleepers. People who stay on the sofa sleepers will receive a 25% discount off of the accommodations portion of the package. "DDSC" does its best in to guarantee configuration prior to the trip. However, the final product is not always within our control.

A credit card is required at a hotel or condominium as a security against damages and telephone usage. Damages, telephone and room service charges will not be paid by "DDSC".

The Club makes no representation regarding the quality of accomodations during trips. We work with reputable tour operators and stay at hotels and condominiums based on their recommendations and on previous experiences of the club. The property that the club will use for any given trip will be listed with the trip and each member is expected to determine the suitabilty of the property for their needs.

Refunds/Changes

Deposits are generally refundable up to 60 days before trip departure. Any exceptions to this policy will be posted with the trip.

Flight ticketing is done approximately 60 days before trip departure. If you cancel a trip after flight ticketing has taken place, cancellation penalties may occur. Every effort will be made to recover your maximum refund for the trip by using waitlist or offering discounted trips to other members. These penalties may equal the full cost of the trip for cancellations made within 60 days of departure.

If for any reason a trip is cancelled, every effort will be made to return your deposit in full within a reasonable time period.

Limit of Liability

Skiing, snowboarding, sports activities, and travel to resort destinations during inclement weather are inherently dangerous activities. You agree to hold the members and officers of the Diamond Dogs Ski Club (DDSC) blameless in the event of any personal injury resulting in participation of any DDSC events regardless of any implied or actual negligence by the DDSC members or officers.

Any illegal activity (whether misdemeanor or felony) pursued by members on a trip or group activity will result in ejection from the trip with no refund, and the contact of local authorities if necessary. Examples include (but are not limited to) assault, reckless endangerment, and illegal drug use. There is a zero tolerance policy and any member found engaging in illegal activity will be banned from the club.

Copyright Release

When engaging in club activities, your photograph or video may be taken by other club members or officers. It is not reasonable to disallow photos and videos from our club activities. By joining the club, you release all rights to any images or video footage taken by other DDSC members and officers.

The club also has a site on Facebook.com and compiles videos for season preview and end of season review. Your image may appear on any one of these or other media types unless you notify the club that you do not want your image displayed. These requests will be honored if they are reasonable and do not cause harm or damages to other club members.

By joining the club, you agree to hold the club blameless of any type of damages that may arise from the display of your image in any form of media regardless of any implied or actual negligence by the DDSC members or officers.

Fraud, Defamation, and False Identity

The size of the club has made it impossible to police membership for valid identity of all our members.

We welcome members of the media and ski industry resorts and lodging representatives / employees to be members of the club with the understanding that they will not engage the club in an official capacity without receiving permission from club leadership beforehand. This includes but is not limited to purchasing items such as gear or lift tickets through the club and/or unapproved presentation of the club or it's activities in the media, regardless of media type. It is expected that they will identify any affiliation with any related parties at the time of the activity. We extend this welcome in good faith to the winter sports community.

Willful misrepresentation of your identify or professional affiliation to the club is grounds for immediate termination of your club membership. In addition, your conduct will be revealed publicly and any fraud or defamation pursued against the Diamond Dogs Ski Club will be considered legally actionable.
