Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why has the trip deposit been increased to $500 and why is $25 of the deposit non-refundabled?
A: In the recent past the club has experienced a large number of trip withdrawals (sometimes at the last minute). Many members are signing up for multiple trips and then withdrawing when final payment is due. Everytime someone signs up for a trip that is one less spot available to other members. Everytime there is a withdrawal when final payment is due the club is left scrambling for a replacement for the trip. Making a portion of the deposit non-refundable is intended to discourage this behavior.

Q: After signing up for a trip, when can I expect to get trip info (directions, lift ticket sometimes, air ticket)?
A: The club gets all materials from the tour operator or resort 3 to 4 weeks prior to trip. Information is given out about 2-3 weeks prior at a "Trip" Happy Hour.

Q: If a trip space runs out, can it be expanded and is there a waiting list?
A: The sooner a trip fills out the sooner we can possibly get more space. We encourage people to register early for this reason, so that if demand has been met we can increase the supply. In addition, a waiting list will be started.

Q: Can I use miles or book my own air.
A. Trip attendees can sometimes make their own travel arrangements. However, in the event that club air has already been booked with an airline or tour operator, the club air must be purchased unless there is no more space available. When making arrangements you are fully responsible for your own transportation for the outbound and return portions of the trip. Frequent flier miles are owned by the name that is stated on the ticket.

Q: What if I miss my flight?
A: It is up to you to coordinate your flight plans with the airline. It will also be up to you to facilitate your own transportation from the airport to the resort as well.

Q: Can I request a roommate?
A: Yes, prior to final trip info going out, you will be sent a list of all people attending. If at all possible we will put you with someone that you have requested.

Q: Can I request my own room?
A: Subject to availability and the payment of a single's supplement you may request your own room.

Q: What if I didn't like rooming with a certain person from a previous trip?
A: We try to rotate people with others so that they may get a chance to get better acquainted with other members. E-mail any specific requests.

Q: Can I bring a non skier on a trip?
