Diamond Dogs Ski Club - Founded September 2002
Who We Are
We are a group of active individuals living throughout New York,
New Jersey and Connecticut. Our common bond is the love of skiing and snowboarding and the club strives to use
that to bring people together to enjoy a year round agenda of adventurous and social activites. In short, we
like to have fun...
Our Mission
Our goal is to maximize the amount of quality skiing and snowboarding of our club members by
leveraging our numbers to offer exciting, affordable, diverse trips all over the globe. We also regularly
organize and promote social events throught the NYC area to help bring fellow skiers and snowboarders together
to meet, socialize, and get to know one another. We pride ourselves on creating a friendly, democratic
environment where everyone's input is solicited and appreciated.
The club is a not for profit organization; we are not charging a membership fee for the club. We will add
a small assessment to our trips and events to cover our own internal costs for postage, website,
publicity, and any other fees. You help defer these costs by participating in the activities of the club.
Our History
The club was founded in 2002 as the "Renegades" ski club, but was quickly renamed the Diamond Dogs to honor
Larry Sumaya, one of the original "Diamond Dogs" who left us on Sept 11th, 2001. We miss him!
Over the past 7 years the club had grown to 2500 members strong, all due to the dedication and selfless
efforts of Andy Jorgensen. Andy has contributed countless amounts of his personal time and resources to
organize, fund, and run the Diamond Dogs. As Andy moves on to the whiter pastures of Utah we owe him a
great debt of gratitude for building the club into what it is today! Good luck Andy and Thank You!
